Fall update

Gavin recently started swimming lessons and loves it! He is not afraid to put his face in the water and loves to drink the water! Yummy! He is learning to kick his legs very well as he goes for a toy crab or fish! We have a lot of fun at the YMCA, though it would be better if the water was a little warmer for Gavin and Mommy!

The weather has been so fall like this last week so we decided it would be fun to take Gavin and jog around the trail at Holmes Lake (Daddy's idea). Gavin loved it and even fell asleep! Afterwards, Gavin went to the park for the first time and tried the slide with Mommy and the swing! He had so much fun!

Nebraska vs. Oklahoma

Gavin had a play date with Grandma Kristie and Papa Dennis on Saturday so that Jesse and I could tailgate for the Husker game! He had so much fun and from what they told me, he was very good! Later that night, Gavin's friends Regan and Drew came over for a play date at our house! They had a short amount of time before the girls needed their sleep!

Boo at the Zoo

This past week Jesse, Gavin and I went to the Boo at the Zoo at the Lincoln Children's Museum! We first visited on Tuesday night, got in line, and realized we forgot the camera! It was cold and late, so we decided to come back another night. So Wednesday, we made it back, earlier and with the camera! Gavin enjoyed it as much as I could tell. He just sat in his stroller and checked everthing out! We saw lots of cool things, the firefighters with Sparky, the Wesleyan Prairie Wolf, and even a few animals (ponies, peacocks, etc.), and of course the scary things! At the end, Gavin pooped out on us and fell asleep on the walk back to the car! What a good sport!

Scooting

Gavin is becoming such a big boy these days! He is sleeping through the night every night! Mommy and Daddy love this! He's also starting to scoot, army-crawl!!! I don't know if I'm ready for this! He just started this yesterday with Daddy at home while mommy was at work! But I did get to see it tonight and I'm sharing it with you all now!

Pumpkin Patch

Jesse and I took Gavin to Roca Berry Farm to the pumpkin patch on the most beautiful fall day ever! We saw some goats, miniture donkeys (or whatever they are), chickens and lots of pumpkins! Gavin had his first hayrack ride and rode it like a champ! Wish I would have more pictures to post here but someone forgot the memory stick to the camera in the computer after posting pictures to the blog! Don't know who that would be! Oops! We were a little disappointed but did pick out a big pumpkin and a few little ones! This is the only picture from my phone but turned out so cute! Gavin was so happy!

Avery Jean
Gavin has another girlfriend! Avery Jean Hengelfelt was born September 7th at 4 lbs. 14 oz. He better be careful, she's a tiny one! He is like a giant compared to her as he now weighs in at 21 lbs 7 oz and is 28 3/4 inches tall. Wow! No wonder he's so hard for me to carry in his infant carrier.
Chillaxin in my Husker gear and enjoying knawing on the binky

Gavin has been eating like such a big boy trying all kinds of vegetables! Here he is eating peas and I think sweet potatoes! Yummy! The funniest was the green beans! He didn't know what to think! Too bad I don't have video of that!

Last few months....

Jesse, Gavin and I went to the fair to check it out for the last time in Lincoln! I guess now we will have to travel to Grand Island to see the "great" attractions! :) We checked out the animals for Gavin and he got a little scared in the bird pavillion. Too many loud birds for him! We also looked at the newborn animals in the birthing pavillion and saw some baby goats, piglets, lambs and chicks! They were so cute! The lambs looked so cuddly! Gavin has so much fun and was such a good boy that day!

New firetruck gear

Gavin recently got some new firetruck gear thanks to Gymboree! Yay! He looks so cute and it is only fitting! We got his 6 month pictures also taken in this stocking hat! He's a very active boy these days and is sitting up with a little assistance so he doesn't fall over! Rolling all over the place to get wherever he wants to go! Not sure that I want him to crawl anytime soon! Still need to baby proof the house!

6 months old

Gavin is 6 months old and becoming such a big boy! He loves green beans and carrots and rice cereal of course! He has been sleeping through the night except for the last couple nights since the his 6 month check up on Thursday! He woke up with a high fever that night then since Saturday has had a fever and a nasty cough. Poor guy! So, the last few nights have been very rough on us when he coughs when he lays down and wakes himself up. But otherwise, growing well! At his check up, he was 21 pounds 7 ounces and 28 3/4 inches long! 97th percentile for height and 95th for weight! Gavin is rolling over all the time to get to what he wants and will sit up for a short period with his hands on his legs or floor. Soon he will be doing it all by himself! I can't believe he is 6 months old already!

Great grandparents

Cousin Andre, Aunt Jennifer, cousin Levi and Aunt Kasi

Great papa and Grandma Rader

Gavin and his crazy cousins

Gavin recently visited Great grandma and great papa Rader with cousins Andre and Levi. He had so much fun seeing them. We even mangaged to capture a few good pictures to prove it! He was able to show off his rolling skills! We love

going to great grandmas house because she cooks us yummy food! Gavin will someday get to enjoy this food!

This past weekend Gavin and Mommy went to grandma joyce and papa dan's house so that Mommy could go out for a little bit! Well, Gavin decided that was not going to happen and would not go to sleep, so needless to say, Mommy did not get to go out. This goes to show Gavin is not always an angel.

Andre and him decided to give us a few laughs before we went home for the night. Andre wanted to hold Gavin so we set him in his lap. Papa Dan was making funny noises to get his attention for this picture because Andre also wanted a picture of this. Andre decided he was going to try to get Gavin's attention by making the crazy sounds and waving his hands in the air like papa. It was hilarious! Wish I would have had the video camera for this one. But here's the picture that I took instead!

Doesn't he look sleepy? Little stinker! Grandma said he must have known mommy was going to leave and didn't want her to.

Gavin is a big boy!

Gavin recently got two teeth this past week! He cut his first bottom tooth on Wednesday and then his second popped thru on Saturday! Watch out, these teeth are very sharp, I know from him biting on my fingers! I am lucky he hasn't tried to bite anything else yet! Keep our fingers crossed he doesn't try that!
I will post some pictures soon and update this again later this week!

Pool time!

Gavin went to the Highland's pool for the first time 2 weeks ago! He had a blast with Cousin Andre, Aunt Kasi, Aunt Kelly and Harper! (So he says by not crying!) He even fell asleep in my arms while there! We sat and played in the zero depth area! And he didn't get any sunburn too, probably because I had him covered up!

Gavin's giggles

Gavin is giggling so much now and it is oh so cute! Playing peek-a-boo with Daddy is the best! This video will just make you melt! Too cute! Keep watching, the best part is later in the video!

July Fun

Sitting on the couch like a big boy!

Cute little family photo, too bad Gavin was looking!

Stylin! (Daddy made me wear my hat to the side!)

Daddy and Gavin looking oh so cute!

Mommy and Gavin

Jesse, Gavin and I went to a wedding last weekend! We got all dressed up! Gavin looked so cute in his all to stylish polo and plaid shorts! I even got to wear my dress I wore for graduation when I was still small! Yay for losing baby weight!

Big milestones!

Friday night Gavin rolled over for the first time! He rolled from his back to his dreaded tummy! Uncle Ryan says, "I wonder why he doesn't like to be on his tummy! It's like lying on a basketball!" Ha ha, Uncle Ryan! I'm a healthy boy!

Grandma Joyce, Papa Dan, Uncle Joe, Aunt Kasi, Carlos and Cousin Andre all got to witness this new trick! Oh ya, plus mommy! Too bad Daddy was at work but I did it again the next day as a show off for Daddy!

John Deere Tractor

Gavin's new John Deere Tractor!

I'm ready to pedal this tractor!

Grandpa Lynn brought me a new John Deere Tractor. Well, not new but actually looks new! It was Grandpa Lynn's when he was a boy and Daddy's when he was little! It looks like brand new! So cute and now so special!

Gavin's first parade

My favorite car the pink one and Jesse's favorite the fire truck, of course!

Aunt Jennifer, Mommy and I

Today Gavin, Jesse and I went to the Shrine Parade in Havelock with Cousins Andre and Levi and of course, Ryan, Jennifer, Kasi and Grandma Joyce. Gavin enjoyed watching the cars go by and even saw a fire truck and engine at the beginning. They kind of scard Gavin at first because of their loud horns. Gavin even gave the clown a five!

Bathtime

I love bathtime!!

Thank you Grandma Karen for taking these cute pictures!

Gavin has now had to move to the big boy bath aka bathtub inside the bathtub! He likes to splash around with his legs now and needless to say had "flooded" the kitchen floor and countertop! Now we can give him a bath without the huge mess to clean up! Though now it is a back breaker to lean over! I can't wait till he can sit up! Wait, yes I can! He's growing up too fast!
