Pumpkin Patch
Monday was a beautiful day off from work and what better time to go to the pumpkin patch! So the Hengelfelts and Daddy, Mommy and Gavin went to Vala's Pumpkin Patch! We had so much fun! Gavin and Avery both were little angels! They were so happy and loved seeing all the sights! We saw animals (the annoying goose or duck, whatever it was it was loud, goats, chickens, ponies, fish, etc), went down slides, went on a hay rack ride to pick out our pumpkins, ate a caramel apple, road the train)! On our way into the patch, the woman taking our tickets said to us with Gavin and Avery in their strollers, "Good luck! They're not going to have any fun!" Wow we thought! What a happy lady she was! She was dead serious too! I wanted to go tell her how much fun we all had when we left, but didn't!

Well, I think our summer of weddings is over! We had our last one yesterday! Jesse's cousin Tami got married and had it at the Champions Club which brought back great memories from our wedding! The wedding and reception were wonderful! Gavin had so much fun dancing! It was so cute watching him! We even requested one of his favorite songs by Sugarland "Stuck Like Glue" since they didn't have Jared Niemann "Lover, Lover". He danced and danced his little heart out!
Time flies and Gavin is 18 months already
I can't believe it, but Gavin is already 18 months! Time sure flies! Everyday he is learning something new. He is talking more and more everyday. New words and short sentences this week! Today, we were visiting Jesse at the fire station and Gavin was sitting in the driver's seat of the fire truck and said, "we go for ride". It was so cute! Gavin recently got his first firetruck or should I say fire engine ride during Jesse's last set! Even I got to go too, just around the block! But Gavin sure thought it was fun! We had to break it to him today that we couldn't go, that it was a one of a kind deal!

Lincoln Children's Museum with Daddy and Friends
Gavin went to the Lincoln Children's Museum for the first time with The Hengelfelts including his friend Avery while Mommy had to work! Boo for work! But someone has to! :) Gavin had a great time according to Daddy but did not sit well for pictures! There were so many things to look at that he just wanted to go go go!!
Gavin has taken a love to country music! He loves to watch country music videos on CMT especially those of Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, etc. A common theme....blondes! :) He has a few favorite songs that if we hear them, he is saying "more, more" after they are done! Lover, Lover and Little White Church are a couple favorites! He will even dance while listening to them! So cute!

10 year high school reunion
Well, it's been 10 years since we both graduated from high school. We had my (Charissa's) reunion this past weekend! It was fun to catch up with old friends that I never see and hang out with the locals that I always see! :) Gavin enjoyed a slumber party with his cousins Andre and Levi.
Before the reunion, we went to Columbus for Scout's 1st birthday party! (Jesse's cousin Jenny's little girl) He had lots of fun in the short time playing outside!
As we were driving home, Gavin decided he wanted to play with my phone and got just enough saliva in it to ruin it! So, I got a new phone out of the deal! I got the HTC Hero! It's pretty fun to play with but much different than my Blackberry I'm use to! Thanks Gavin for letting Mommy upgrade her phone for a new high tech one!
Sunday, Gavin and I went to the firestation to visit Daddy! As always, he enjoyed his time in the fire truck! And pestering the other guys! ![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8Oxif6l_4MqSozIxQ9nBKV8Pzh_Pmkgz12CnW7y8b_I_brpu1clpJZ0-WkhC9KS4AxlRSeR_E-GGyikp_C0k5zUE59tkdBHVTF3CI7pqDGxZax4eec35-SvGG5SAKfLItupHG4FLPCqgn/s320/firetruck.jpg)

Summer 2010
Well, it's been awhile since I last blogged! We've been very busy! Jesse and I just got back from Playa del Carmen, Mexico a week ago! We had so much fun with friends Molly, Brett, Travis and Alicia! While there, we just relaxed by the pool and beach, sipped on some yummy fruity drinks (my favorite: Dirty Monkey and Jesse's: Miami Vice). We swam with the dolphins one day and enjoyed the water slides and all you can drink and eat at the water park. Never been to a water park with these perks! :) We sure were ready to come back to see Gavin!
Gavin spent time with the grandparents and was certainly spoiled. It was evident by the many fits and attitude he has had when we say no! :) Papa Dan and Grandma Joyce enjoyed him the first part! They went to the zoo and Gavin got to ride the pony and the train and enjoyed them all. He even was spoiled with a new racoon stuffed animal! Thanks Grandma Joyce! The middle part was spent with Grandma and Grandpa Schinzel! Gavin went to cousin Tami's bridal shower and played with cousin Ryan! Sounds like he was a hit and loved his Great Aunt Jaci (b/c she gave him lots of M & M's)! Thanks for the chocolate high! :) Last but not least, Gavin spent the last night with Papa Dennis and Grandma Kristie! They traveled to Kearney to see Grandma and Grandpa Douglas! Cousin Andre got to go on the road trip too! They had lots of fun and ate at Applebee's! All in all, both Gavin and us had a great time! We were sure glad to see each other! Gavin was Dady's little boy when we got back, making me a little sad!
Will post more pics of the adventures soon!

Gavin's First Birthday
So my baby is one!! And I'm a little saddened yet excited for what is yet to come! I can't believe he is 1 already! It seems not long ago I was waking up during the middle of the night to nurse 3 times! Wow, I'm glad those sleepless nights are over! Can I tell you how happy I am that he sleeps thru the night?! :)
His birthday party was a success and he was able to celebrate with over 30 guests at his Sweet 1st birthday party! If only they had that show on T.V., he could have been famous! He even had firetruck tatoos! Gavin had a blast with his firetruck party, or should I say that it was probably more fun for me! Yet very stressful to prepare! I made his first birthday cake as a firetruck, and if you ask me, it turned out great since I was putting the finishing touches only a few hours before! ![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4h0b68jVZ4j2PxXAOHLf0sgTjq439ZHEhJOxuh1297jYEyPUPQ8X2J7ABvp_0FxGnwZa9qF02Bl11CrcDuttunUj9BACwsUww7IMzuEtsA99yc6MJsZiAevhL_gXaEMM8hFjjXsFeQ9CK/s320/IMG_0162.JPG)
Gavin enjoyed his cake, not like a typical 1 year old! He was not messy at all, only 1 finger at a time! He knows he is suppose to stay clean I think!![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDdBgCYNO5zPXXwUcqTHoxXGHmJZhNw7-rNpheqXjaTG64aHQsBH_syhjIsiwwkQ6DHulkGMTaP352-I4gieGqx8XA4yglCLwIhjy1SKX-vWZi-9JbGKphW6AyvtWSkwTSjMVL-Sv9jXt1/s320/IMG_0294.JPG)

Gavin's walking.....
Gavin is now walking all over the place, with his push toy! I know soon he will be walking independently, but for now, here is what he does!
He is also playing his role as a true boy with his motor sounds while playing with his trucks! He may be playing with his firetrucks, dumptruck or walking with his push toy, basically anything that has wheels, now also has a motor! It's so cute!
Grandpa Lynn came down to visit last weekend. Grandpa and I just relaxed watching cartoons and watching Mommy and Daddy carry out drywall scraps! Thanks Grandpa for helping us! :)

New videos!
Gavin is learning lots of new things lately! He is starting to walk with his walker all by himself!
He also is learning to read! :) I've found him doing this on many occasions and it's so cute!
Gavin also is starting to dance! He learned this dance move from his Dad!

Firsts for Gavin
Mohawk by Daddy
Babysitting Avery
Gavin reading his baby Bible! How sweet!
Happy as can be!!
Gavin has recently been pulling himself up to the couch this past week! He thinks he is pretty hot stuff! He also will do a little crawling, normal crawling that is, not army, once in awhile. But he would much rather army crawl! He's so funny!
He had a couple of rough nights this week and a trip to the MD to see what was going on and found nothing! Glad for that! And has been much better sleeping thru the night since the MD appointment! Go figure!

Gavin's First Christmas

Like my new vest?
Gavin had a great first Christmas! He received many wonderful gifts! He most enjoyed playing with the wrapping paper, ribbons and bows, even more than exploring his new toys! He was fascinated by this! So for the future, wrapping paper and bows are all we need! :) Thanks to everyone who got to celebrate Jesus' birthday with us!
